Hello my friends!
Guess what?! Transfers have come. I get to stay! My comp, Sister
Allred got voted off the island though. :) She's being transferred and I
will have a new comp.
Sorry this letter is going to be quite short because I spent the
bulk of my time writing individualized emails. Oh for the time when
computer time was not on timer! (Except by mom. :D)
This Thanksgiving was great!! I loved it. We got permission to meet
as a zone, and President and Sister Howes, the Assistants and our zone
at a delightful couple's home, the Mathesons. They are RMs from the
Tempe Mission and love us to pieces. They prepared a multi course
Thanksgiving...it was huge and straight from calendars!! I took pictures
so they'll get to you eventually.
We also had thanksgiving from one of my good friends Sheila. She is
a lady that is dying of cancer in our complex. She gave us her
Christmas wrapping paper because she says she won't need it. :( She has
become a very dear friend, and she gave a tender prayer for
Thanksgiving. She said that we were her angels (and all the missionaries
that have been helping her of the past year, she is not a member of the
church) and that we have helped her in her journey with cancer and
returning home to God. It was very special, and I admit I had to wipe a
tear after that one.
Alice is doing well. (95 year old lady we visit once a week,
member) I painted her toes and fingers yesterday and she LOVED it. It's
her favorite color: aqua. Pictures coming!
Please pray for the Webb family. They are a part member family.
Mom, Kim, served a mission, got offended and stopped going to church. I
can't describe the sadness at the venom she has for that good ward after
10 years and there's been much rotation. But she wants her daughter,
Lannie to be baptized and her husband Frank who would never have any
conversation with missionaries now wants to meet with us andhas been on
fire!! Kim is being very difficult. Please pray that her heart will be
softened.
I have good news, Elder Curtis Miller (friend from home) is coming
to Tempe mission! And Elder Tate Murphey is here as well. It is so fun
to see my good friends in the work with me.
I love seeing how the Lord has helped me to touch those around me. I
love my Savior and and humbled to be His servent and be able to carry
His name over my heart.
Love,
